BC Wildfire T Shirt Fundraiser Giving Back

The BC Wildfire T Shirt Fundraiser has been one of the few bright spots during this wildfire season.

Darcy Foster and Shane Gunn, two of the organizers of the Fundraiser, will be making one last hurrah this weekend at the Farmers Market in 100 Mile and the Wildfire Fundraiser in Williams Lake.

Darcy Foster explains what they’ll do if they have any leftover merchandise.

“What we’d like to do is send the fire fighting crews a bunch of t-shirts and hoodies, whatever we have left. Because a lot of people came from a lot of different places and are working 20 hours a day. They haven’t had an opportunity to take pictures or grab a souvenir from the community.”

Foster says giving back to the people who have travelled across the country to help fight the fires in the community is a nice way to say thanks.

Net proceeds from the fundraiser have reached close to $100,000 with 50 percent going to local fire halls and the other 50 percent going to the Red Cross.
