Conservative MP Calls Out Liberal Government After Bill Voted Down

Conservative MP Cathy McLeod had some harsh words for the Liberal Government after they voted down legislation that she says would help fight BCs drug crisis.

McLeod stated that by voting down bill C-338, which would bring harsher penalties to those who traffic dangerous drugs, Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Government was taking the side of drug dealers and criminals. McLeod said, “when these criminals bring fentanyl into this country, when they put it into a drug, they know they’re killing people. When you have someone that is knowingly doing something that will kill our daughters and our sons, it is a very very serious criminal offence.”

Moving forward McLeod says she’s going to continue to bring up this crisis and fight it at every opportunity given.

According to the BC Coroners Service, there were 488 illicit drug overdose deaths in BC during the first 4 months of the year.
