With anticipation continuing to grow regarding Mt Polley’s application for a 50% restart of operations, the Ministry of Energy and Mines confirmed Thursday that they have requested more information from the company’s owner, Imperial Metals
Minister Bill Bennett, says government officials had met with Imperial Metals in Vancouver this past Wednesday.
Should the Ministry accept Imperial Metals’ finalized plan, it will be reviewed by First Nations and the Cariboo Mine Development Review Committee, followed by a 30-day public consultation period.
Mt. Polley had submitted their application to the provincial government for a 50% restart of operations on January 12th.
They were unavailable for comment.
