Hunters to rally at MLA’s office

Hunting allocations are the hot topics as the Lone Butte Fish and Wildlife Association will be holding a peaceful protest at MLA Donna Barnett’s office in 100 Mile House tomorrow.

Resident hunters are upset over the province shifting some of the allocations to guide outfitters.

Al Bush, President of the Williams Lake Sportsmen’s Association who will be attendance, says residential hunter’s concerns have been ignored and that Barnett has disappointed them as an MLA.

Scott Ellis, the executive director of the Guide-Outfitters Association of BC, meanwhile says the allocations are a difference of 2% and has practically no effect on local hunters.

Organizers encourage participants to bring signs and letters expressing their dismay over the allocations.

The rally is scheduled to get underway at 11.
