A recommendation of no tax increases for the City of Williams Lake 2015 budget may be potentially impacted by a civil claim for wrongful dismissal.
City Councillor Scott Nelson says depending on the results of the trial of Donald DeGagne versus the City there could be adverse outcomes for property owners.
DeGagne was to fill the vacant CAO position on March 1st of 2013, but was told by the City he was not the best fit one day prior he was to take his office at City Hall.
Alleged mental stress and significant anxiety suffered as a result was outlined by  DeGagne when he amended the claim on May 8th of 2014.
Nelson says it could take up to a year before the City knows the final ruling.
