Northern Shuswap Tribal Council stand up against bullying

Anyone and everyone is encouraged to wear the color pink on Wednesday to stand up against bullying.

Sarah Hood, Aboriginal Victims Services Program Manager with the Northern Shuswap Tribal Council says they are selling pink shirts in part of Pink Shirt Day.

Hood also says they are working to bring awareness to other bands to participate in standing up against bullying.

Pink Shirt Day started in 2007 when two teenagers from Nova Scotia encouraged their fellow peers to wear pink t-shirts in support of a classmate who was being bullied.
