CRD makes amendment to invasive plant bylaw

The Cariboo Regional District has reduced the number of days non-complaint landowners have to respond to an invasive plant bylaw.

Chair Al Richmond says a common misconception of the amendment which reduces the control period from 21 to 14 days is that it will not give landowners enough time to take action.

Richmond says invasive plants are a pretty big issue affecting the region.

The amendment to the Invasive Plant Bylaw which was made at the CRD’s board meeting last week was not supported by Directors Byron Kemp, Betty Anderson, and Joan Sorley.
