A report analysis on gaps within mental health services in the Central and South Cariboo has been released.
Kimberly Vance-Lundsbye, a Healthy Communities Grant Researcher, says although there were 100 to 150 different barriers identified, they could all fit under 3 main categories.
Vance-Lundsbye, says she also discovered a lack in available crisis services and information.
Service providers had also provided input about cultural competency when providing mental health services to First Nations, says Vance-Lundsbye.
The report which was made possible through a BC rural healthy communities grant spearheaded by Cariboo Regional Director Margo Wagner and Joan Sorley was presented before the CRD board Wednesday.
