The BC Nurses Union is expressing further concern about safe patient care after their Vice President toured the University Hospital of Northern BC this week.
Christine Sorensen shares with the some of the first-hand conditions she witnessed patients endured.
Sorensen, who contributes the appalling conditions to a shortage of nurses, says although she not yet been able to tour hospitals in the Cariboo region she has heard concerns of similar conditions occurring.
Sorensen says the BC Nurses Union has solutions that could be implemented to help ease what she calls a province-wide problem but for the most part have been ignored by the provincial government and regional health authorities.
