School District seeks public input on annual budget and potential new logo

School District 27 will once again be looking for a budget reduction of $800,000 as they look to prepare their annual budget.

MLA for the Cariboo-Chilcotin Donna Barnett, says she is optimistic that the School Board will be able to find resolutions.

Superintendent of Schools Mark Thiessen says that they do their best each year to try and find efficiencies in the budget that they have, which above all does not affect students.

Public input on School District 27’s budget for 2015-2016 can be shared through an online survey on the District’s website, which will be available until March 6th.

The School District is also seeking input on the possibility of a new logo.

Thiessen says the approximate cost to implement a new logo for School District 27 will have a price tag of $21,400.

The deadline for input on the logo which can also be shared through an online survey on the District’s website is Feb. 19.
