The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department was called out to a structure fire early this morning.
Fire Chief Sylvain Gauthier says the call, at around 1-30 a.m., was to Cariboo Pulp…
“The fire was mainly external on the outside walls right where the boiler is on the west side of the mill. And the fire was approximately, the flames were 15 to 20 feet high.”
Gauthier says fortunately the fire fighting crew from Cariboo Pulp had the fire out by the time they arrived.
No one was hurt and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Gauthier says they responded with 16 members, three fire engines and the ladder truck.
