RCMP warn public of gas thefts

Quesnel RCMP is warning the public about a recent string of thefts or attempted thefts of gas from vehicles.

RCMP Sgt. Darren Dodge says there have been 6 to be exact in just the past three days and he says they are using a drill to access the gas in the tanks.

He calls this a dangerous process as fuel is almost always spilled on the ground, creating a fire hazard.

RCMP encourage vehicle owners to park their vehicles in well-lit areas, ensure that they are locked and report any suspicious activity to the RCMP.
