It appears that nature played a role in a single vehicle accident on Highway 97 near Lac La Hache on Sunday morning.
Corporal Ryder Birtwistle says 100 Mile House RCMP were called out to an accident near Olafson Road at around 10-30…
“Apparently a vehicle left the road, struck a telephone pole, causing the pole to fall down. It had wires across the highway and it was single lane alternating traffic for sometime.”
Birstwistle says a tire of the vehicle actually flew through the air and struck a fence causing some significant damage.
Despite all of that he says the driver was not seriously hurt.
The vehicle was towed.
Birtwistle says BC Hydro attended and dealt with the power pole.
He says it is believed that the driver lost control while avoiding a deer.
Charges are not being contemplated at this time.
