Your local Safeway store is inviting you to take part in the Canada Screams for Ice Cream campaign which runs Saturday, June 24.
Laura Brown is a community investment specialist for Western Canada for Sobeys Inc.
“In celebration of Canada’s 150th and supporting youth in our communities we’ve put together a program that will invite our guests and customers to our stores all across Western Canada and the intent is to make a $2.00 donation and receive a tasty ice cream treat in return.”
100% of the funds raised in both Williams Lake and Quesnel will go towards Big Brothers and Big Sisters and in 100 Mile to the Cadets with Sobeys also matching all donations raised for the day up to a total of $100,000.
“The charities were selected in working with the store managers and the community groups they work with. There’ll be volunteers from each of those organizations as well as we’ll have staff at the booth collecting donations and there’ll be some fun and excitement,” Brown adds.
Canada Screams for Ice Cream runs from 10 am until 4pm.
