Williams Lake RCMP Arrest Second Prolific Offender this Week

A 21-year-old Williams Lake prolific offender who was wanted on multi-jurisdictional warrants is in custody, the second prolific offender to be arrested this week.

On June 22 at 10:00 pm Williams Lake RCMP arrested Lane Don Cooper.

The arrest occurred after members of the Cariboo Crime Reduction Unit received information that Cooper had been staying at a residence in the area of 2nd Avenue North in Williams Lake.

Members from the Cariboo Crime Reduction Unit were assisted by members from the General Investigation Section and General Duty.

Cooper was wanted on 8 outstanding warrants for a number of offences which included possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carry a concealed weapon, driving while disqualified, fail to appear in court, fail to comply with recognizance, fail to comply with probation order and 8 counts of fail to comply with an undertaking,

“The Williams Lake RCMP remains committed to targeting prolific offenders within our community,” said Cst. Andrew Waters.

30-year-old Kurtis Justin Billy was arrested earlier this week for breach of undertaking or recognizance.
