Members of the Williams Lake Fire Department responded to an early morning fire in the City this morning.
Deputy Fire Chief Brendan Foote said they received a call shortly before 5 for a fire behind Surplus Herby’s on Mackenzie Avenue.
“When crews arrived there was a stack of pallets on the loading bay that had caught fire and that the fire had spread into the roof of the building. Crews were able to knock down the fire quickly to minimize fire spread and damage to the structure.”
Four engines and 21 firefighters responded and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
