100 Mile Fire Rescue Welcomes Latest Recruits

100 Mile House Fire Rescue officially has 5 new firefighters.

Roger Hollander is the Fire Chief.

“We’re extremely proud of their hard work and their commitment. This is sort of just the beginning of their training and their firefighting career. In the fire service, we don’t stop training and stop learning so it just continues on to other certifications and other courses.”

Hollander says the application process was from January to March and that the new recruits have completed over 80 hours of training which they had started in April.

He says that they now currently have 30 members in their hall-2 that are paid full-time and 28 paid on call and adds that they are always looking for new members.
