Music for Youth Fundraiser Goes Tonight in Williams Lake

The 1st annual POPS in the Park goes tonight (Thursday, June 22) in Boitanio Park in Williams Lake.

Secretary with the Community Arts Council of Williams Lake as well as one of the organizers of the event, Sharon Hoffman says they wanted to showcase local talent as well as fundraise for youth.

“We’re partnering with the Rotary and the Boys and Girls Club. So many businesses in the community have come on board and they have helped with the sponsoring of this. All of the funds that are raised are going to be going to the Boys and Girls Club and then they will distribute that money to deserving kids so they can get music lessons.”

Hoffman says it would be nice to raise $4,500 by the end of the evening.

Tonight’s POPS in the Park starts with a Rotary bbq at 5 pm with 6 different groups and 3 separate individuals putting on music entertainment from 5:30 until 9 pm.
