21-year-old Davey Ronald Auger, who has been in police custody since May 28, now faces 22 charges as a result of this active investigation.

Auger has been charged with 5 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. The various drugs have been identified as heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine; cannabis and fentanyl. Two of those five charges have been directly related to Fentanyl.

Auger is also facing 17 charges for various Criminal Code offences of which 15 of those charges are for firearm related offences. The firearms, which were prohibited or modified included a rifle, shotgun, a restricted handgun and a crossbow.

“The RCMP will continue to use a consultative, research-based approach to reducing crime by targeting our efforts toward high-volume offenders and known crime hot spots,” said Williams Lake RCMP Inspector, Jeff Pelley.

“Although we are pleased with the results and will continue to do everything we can to keep our communities safe, we didn’t do it alone. This is a community issue and we cannot solve crime or lower crime rate without the cooperation of the community.”

Auger’s next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, June 21, 2017, where Crown Counsel will seek further detention regarding the new charges.
