RCMP Request Public’s Assistance in Locating Missing Cyclist

Update:

Smithers RCMP continue attempts to locate Sean David Kuntz, who was reported missing on Tuesday, June 13th, 2017.

Kuntz left Smithers on June 9th to cycle to Saanich, BC to visit his mother and was last in contact with her on June 13th.

“Investigators now believe there has been a confirmed sighting of Kuntz, at the Caribou Visitor Center in 100 Mile June 14,” said RCMP.

A man who was riding his bicycle from Smithers to Saanich on Highway 97 to meet his mother has been reported missing.

45-year-old Sean David Kuntz had last texted his mother on Tuesday, June 13 and told her he was in between Quesnel and Williams Lake.

Kuntz is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 5’ 11
  • Well built
  • Dark eyes
  • Dark Hair
  • Missing half of his thumb

It is believed that Kuntz has been sleeping on the side of the highway according to RCMP.

“Police, family, and friends are very concerned for Kuntz’s wellbeing and ask that if you see him to please call the RCMP,” said media relations officer Cpl. Janelle Shoihet.
