BC Wildfire Service crews responded to a wildfire over the weekend South West of Lac La Hache.

“A fire was discovered yesterday approximately 20 kilometres southwest of Lac La hache. Yesterday air tankers and crews and heavy equipment responded. It’s estimated to be 15 hectares in size and at this time is 100 percent contained.”
Broznitsky says they have 30 fire fighters on site as well as one piece of heavy equipment.
The fire is not a threat to public safety or property at this time however smoke may be visible from nearby areas today including on Highway 97.
The cause is still under investigation.
