The Canadian Mosaic Project will be making a stop in Williams Lake at the Tourism Discovery Centre (TDC) on Wednesday.
Claudia Blair is the executive director with the of the Williams Lake and District Chamber of Commerce.
“We’re pretty excited. It’s a mobile display and people can come in and see all the stuff that’s been going on in Canada, they can get their photograph done. The mosaic that they’re creating will be the largest of anything that’s ever been done before.”
The Project is scheduled to be at the TDC from 10 am until 4 pm before heading to 100 Mile House at the South Cariboo Visitor Centre the following day.
Blair adds that day is Aboriginal Day as well and that the TDC will be taking part following the celebrations at Boitanio Park.
“We’re working with all the groups in the community; whichever band and group wants to come and participate up at the TDC. So after 2 o’clock, we will have bannock for sale, we’re going to have some venison stew, we have an area set out for any of the Aboriginal vendors.”
A parade will begin to start Aboriginal Day at 10 am beginning from the Elks Halls and moving along First Avenue to Oliver Street and on to Boitanio Park for celebrations from 11 am until 2:30 pm.
