Recreation Fees Are Going Up In Quesnel

The North Cariboo Joint Planning Committee has voted unanimously in favor of bumping up the cost of using the arena, the Rec Centre and community use of local schools.

Diane Rogers is the Recreation Manager…

“Generally what we’re proposing is a two percent increase across the board in all our fees with the exception of the community use of schools, which we feel are much undervalued and have a higher increase.”

Elementary School gym fees will go from 15-50 an hour to 20 dollars and the rental fee for a Secondary School will rise from 18-25 an hour to 25 dollars.

Hourly rates for the use of the arena remain much lower than other communities.

Quesnel’s hourly rate of $76.75 an hour compares to 89-16 in Williams Lake, $90.20 in 100 Mile House and 98-75 in Prince George.
