Bella Coola home invasion suspect pleads guilty

Four years in jail and a lifetime firearms prohibition.

That was the sentence handed down to a Bella Coola man who pled guilty to charges relating to a home invasion.

41-year old Nathan Duperron pled guilty to charges of Robbery, Forcible Confinement and Break and Enter with the intent of committing an indictable offence.

Numerous other charges, including Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats, were stayed.

Bella Coola RCMP says they received a 911 call for a home invasion back in September.

Police say they were told that a man, armed with a sawed-off shotgun, had entered a residence and demanded money from the homeowners.

No one was hurt.

One of the residents was able to flee to a neighbouring home to call the police.
