fun in the sun coming this August to the South Cariboo

It will have something for everyone, of every age.

That’s how Shelly Morton, Manager of the South Cariboo Chamber of Commerce, described the first ever Summer Festival planned to be held the second weekend in August.

Morton explains how they came up with the concept to put an event like this together.

“Since the Fall Fair hasn’t run since 2014 we thought we could bring something like that but add a few more exciting events to it. So this is happening August 11th and 12th and we have many, many fun events planned like Lawnmower races and a visit from the Kamloops Sky Divers”.

Morton says the Summer Festival will be held on the grounds of the South Cariboo Rec Centre using the curling rink, the agri-plex, the main arena and both ball fields.

Dates for the festival are August 11th and 12th.
