The Tsilhqot’in National Government (TNG) says they are happy to announce that renovations are underway at the former Kwaleen Elementary School in Williams Lake.
The TNG made the announcement in a newsletter released Friday.
The building will house the new Negotiations and External Affairs office which will also have classrooms for rent and a gathering space outside for Tsilqot’in Nation Members.
“This is an important step for the nation that will strengthen the path towards reconciliation with the Province of B.C and Canada and most importantly improve the lives of Tsilhqot in people,” the newsletter reads.
The Tsilhqot’in National Government had purchased the property last year from School District 27 for $270,000.
