A BC Transit pilot program providing extended hours on the Quesnel Transit System will be extended.
The program, in place in both March and April, featured an added weekday evening route to West Quesnel and Red Bluff and earlier service on Saturday to West Quesnel and North Fraser Drive.
Director of Community Services Jeff Norburn provided Council with an update at this week’s meeting…
“The report generally indicates that ridership for the Saturday morning service expansion on route one was good but that ridership for weekday evening service was lower than hoped.”
Norburn went on to say however that it can take riders a number of months to fully adapt to new schedules.
Because of that, Norburn says BC Transit recommended that Council approve the continuation of the service in September and continue to monitor the numbers until March of 2018.
