Thousands of BC Hydro customers in the Cariboo are without power as a storm moves through the area.
BC Hydro Spokesperson Bob Gammar confirms that the outages are widespread…
“We have about 4700 customers out in the Quesnel/Wells/Barkerville area as well as north. Dunkley Lumber is effected and Prince George as well, and also south in the Cariboo down to 100 Mile where about 1600 customers are without power.”
Gammar says around 600 Williams Lake residents are also being impacted.
He says the storm, with wind and lightning, is the likely culprit although they are still investigating.
Gammar says crews have been mobilized and they are working to restore power.
