Quesnel’s Primary Care Clinic One Year Later

One year later and Quesnel’s Primary Care Clinic is going strong.

We asked Debbie Strang, the Health Services Administrator in Quesnel, what the impact has been…

“We’ve had over 700 new patients come to the clinic and register with a family physician and I think they have about three thousand active patients. Those 700 patients did not have a physician before they registered there so that’s a huge impact in one year.”

Strang says the primary care model is different as you spend more time with your primary care provider looking at your list of challenges and things you need to work on.

She says they now have a rheumatologist that works out of the clinic and comes to visit from Vancouver.

Strang says they still have room for more alternate care providers, maybe a massage therapist or a chiropractor.
