Wassenaar and Scaiano Receive Certificates of Merit

A dentist and a young wrestler were presented with Certificates of Merit at Tuesday night’s regular Council meeting for putting Williams Lake on the map.

Rudy Wassenaar says it’s fantastic to get this type of recognition from his own community.

“I’ve lived here and worked for 30 years and worked hard always to do a better job. For the last few years I’ve been getting international attention with what I’ve been doing with implant dentistry so I’m hoping it will attract more professionals to Williams Lake, more people that look for certain services, be comfortable living here and moving here, and that applies to every small town in Canada.”

Also receiving a Certificate of Merit was 46 kg freestyle national wrestling champ Tyleen Scaiano.

“Excited and grateful,” said Scaiano who beamed with happiness with her family of her reaction following the presentation.

Mayor of Williams Lake Walt Cobb spoke highly of both recipients following the meeting and says he thinks it’s great.
