Vintage Car Club To Celebrate Canada’s 150th With Tour

The Vintage Car Club of Club of Canada will be cruising through the Cariboo in part of Canada’s 150th birthday.

Ken Hoshowski from Kamloops is the tour chairman.

“Normally we have a May tour which is a 3 day annual tour in different places in British Columbia-we have 22 Chapters in Britsh Columbia. This year because the celebration of the 150th birthday we decided to do the tour.”

Hoshowski says the Club did a 10-day driving tour back in 1967 to celebrate the country’s 100th birthday and thought that it was very appropriate 50 years later to do it again.

The Tour is scheduled to be in 100 Mile House on Thursday when they are hosted by the 100 Mile House Cruzers Car Club.  Cars will be available for viewing at the Cariboo Recreation Centre from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The Tour will be in Williams Lake on Friday and will depart from the Laughing Loon with a parade Friday afternoon before continuing to Quesnel.

Hoshowski says the tour will make another stop in Williams Lake on Monday, June 12. He says they will be hosted by Pioneer Log Homes and will be offering a show and shine to the public at the Tourism Discovery Centre that day from 4:30 to 7pm.

The Tour will wrap up in Abbotsford on Wednesday, June 14.
