Around $23,000 was raised for the Williams Lake and District Boys and Girls Club through Saturday’s Race for Kids.
Stephanie Hendrickson is operations coordinator for the Club.
“Our first team in was Yabba Dabba Doo, our second team in was Think Pink, and the third team was The Credit Union Super Moms. Our third top individual fundraiser was Bernadine Longland ($985.00), our second top individual was Becky Bravi ($1,000) , and our first was Georgina Chipman ($1,602).”
Hendrickson adds that they were even able to further garner some support from local business Mr. Mikes during the event.
“That was amazing that they just came over. They just noticed us here and came over and donated $200 worth of gift certificates. That was fantastic and they were really supportive about wanting to be involved with us in the future.”
Hendrickson says they are really pleased of this year’s amount of funds that were raised which came in close to their $25,000 goal.
A total of 9 teams of four adults had taken part.
