Race for Kids Gets Underway This Morning

Expect to see adults racing across downtown Williams Lake for the Boys and Girls Club Saturday morning.

Operations Coordinator Stephanie Hendrickson says today marks the 3rd year of Race for Kids which raises funds for their programs and services.

“It’s for teams of 4 adults and they use pledge-based fundraising. They then compete in a 10 check challenge across the downtown and they complete fun activities along the way and then race to the finish line and we’ve got a lot of great prizes. It’s just a really fun morning.”

Today’s Race for Kids has registration getting underway this morning at 9 at Herb Gardner Park with the race starting at 10.

The Club is hoping to pull in $25,000 through the event with Hendrickson noting that they have been very fortunate to have Tolko which has donated $9,000 be the title sponsor for the event this year.
