Quite the scene in downtown Quesnel this morning as RCMP investigate a break and enter at Carter’s Jewellers that resulted in severe damage to the building.

Sargeant Chris Riddle says they believe that is happened early this morning at around 4 o’clock…

“It appears the suspects used a vehicle to smash the wall out of the building to make entry. General Duty investigators are still on scene awaiting the Forensic Identification Section to complete their forensic search of the scene for any evidence left by the suspects.”

Riddle says the cost of the damage to the building and product loss from inside is unknown at this time.

He says the investigation is very active and ongoing.

Anyone who may have witnessed any movement around the building or the Reid Street area between 3-45 and 4 a.m. is asked to call the RCMP or Crimestoppers.
