Wear Red Day to honor fallen RCMP Constable

Those wishing to show support for fallen RCMP Constable David Wynne are able to do so by wearing red today.

The 42-year-old father of 3 was shot and killed just over a week ago outside of Edmonton, this just a month after Corporal Jean Rene Michaud formerly of Quesnel was shot in Kamloops.

Corporal Brian Lam of the 100 House RCMP says every time tragedy strikes, he’s amazed at the show of support from the community.

“With the last one in Moncton, the local community here, whenever a tragic incident like that happens we’ve always had a lot of support.”

“We have people coming in and thanking us for our work and that type of thing.”

At last count, over 60,000 thousand people had joined the Wear Red event on Facebook.
