Projects to Upgrade Internet Services in Dugan Lake and McLeese Lake

More than 350 homes and businesses in Dugan Lake and McLeese Lake will be able to access faster internet speeds.

The Ministry of Technology, Innovation and Citizen’s Services and Northern Development Initiative Trust, announced Friday a $159,161 investment in a new connectivity project.

Falko Kadenbach is the vice president of ABC Communications who will match the Province’s funding for a total investment of $318,322.

“The Dugan Lake and McLeese Lake projects will deliver LTE broadband services to those residents. We look forward to being able to deliver our full range of offerings there once those projects are complete and being able to scale those up as the services network evolves.

Kadenbach says the projects are slated to be complete by March 2018 the latest, with hookup available to customers by fall of this year.

ABC’s project builds on its previous high-speed wireless deployments launched in 2014 and complements other Internet improvements being made by other Internet service providers operating in the wider region.

They also received a $310,971 grant to upgrade or provide new Internet service to rural locales around 100 Mile House.
