Large icicles on a downtown business in 100 Mile House saw a stretch of Birch Avenue’s sidewalk taped off until they could be removed.
Director of Engineering and Community Services, Phil Strain, explains why sidewalks near businesses are more prone to hazardous icicles
“In the commercial area, of course, they built it to their allot line, which means their buildings could come up right to the property line so their signs can be hanging out.”
Icicles although pretty kill an estimated 15 North Americans each year.
