Full Slate For Quesnel Citizen Of The Year

Once again they all came in at the last minute but there are now nine nominees for Quesnel’s Volunteer Citizen of the Year.

City Councillor Ron Paull, also the Chair of the Committee, says they are getting used to it…

“I joke with the mayor saying we should have signs on either end of town saying “welcome to Quesnel, if it wasn’t for the last minute nothing would get done around here.” It always seems that they come in at the last minute so indeed we are a last minute town, but that’s OK in my books.”

Paull says five of the nine were also nominated last year and there will be four new names on the ballot as well.

A winner will be announced at the banquet on April 26th in the Billy Barker Casino showroom.

Paull wouldn’t let the cat out of the bag on which one but he says either a Lifetime Achievement Award or a Silent Hero Award will also be presented.
