Quesnel City Council is establishing a new grant program to restore existing murals.
Mayor Bob Simpson…
“With Council’s approval we’ve been given the green light to mirrors something along what we do with the facade program with Northern Trust and do some kind of match with not for profits and for businesses that have murals in town so they get cleaned up and refreshed.”
The grants would cover 100 percent of the cost for non-profit groups and 50 percent for businesses.
Property owners would be required to review their mural plans with the city in order to qualify.
20 thousand dollars would be allocated for this program for this year and the other 20 thousand in this year’s budget would go to refresh the mural at the curling rink.
