Jaques Nominated as BC Greens Candidate in Cariboo North

Cariboo-North officially has a green party candidate for the upcoming provincial election.

Richard Jaques who is no stranger to the region was officially nominated Tuesday as the BC Green Party Candidate.

Leader of the BC Green Party, Andrew Weaver says Jacques understands the vital importance of supporting children and families, and that his extensive experience in community policing and more recently in education demonstrate his firsthand understanding of the issues facing rural and indigenous communities.

“I believe our children are the future; we must strive to provide educational opportunities that will give them a solid foundation to make future decisions that will benefit generations to come,” said Jaques. “I am running in Cariboo North because I believe industry needs to be sustainable in order to provide for future generations.”

Jacques goes up against incumbent Liberal MLA Coralee Oakes, NDP candidate Scott Elliot, and BC Conservative Tony Goulet.
