Suspect Arrested for Attempted Break and Enter Offences

Williams Lake RCMP say they have caught a suspect in the act who is alleged to be linked to several break and enter offences involving businesses in the Williams Lake area.

On March 15 at approximately 1:20 a.m. Williams Lake General Investigation Section and General Duty arrested a man without incident while attempting to break into a business on Donald road.

The 37-year-old man is known to police and is from the Alexis Creek area.

Charges of attempted break and enter with intent, possession of break and enter instruments and possession of a weapon contrary to a court order are being recommended to Williams Lake Crown Counsel.

“It will remain a priority for our detachment and officers to proactively enforce property crime offences within this community” says Inspector Jeff Pelley, Officer in Charge of the Williams Lake Detachment.

“It is apparent this arrest will lead to the reduction of break and enter offences occurring at local businesses.Officers are still in the process of determining if this suspect is linked to other break and enter offences that have been occurring.”
