100 Mile House Fire Rescue responded to a fire at the Norbord OSB Mill yesterday morning (March.10).

Roger Hollander, fire chief at the hall says they arrived on scene just after 10:15AM

“The fire was located by staff on site, contracting staff initially tried to extinguish the fire themselves however the fire and smoke were too large. 100 Mile House Fire Rescue Crews were able to extinguish the fire completely.”

Hollander says that 6 contract staff members at the mill were taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation
