Quesnel Council Cites Highway 97 Concerns

Quesnel City Council will be sending a letter to the Ministry of Transportation.

It will ask that the Ministry consider moving the digital sign at Chuck Beath Park along Highway 97 to a different location.

Council considers the current location dangerous as it is on a busy and sharp corner.

The second request is that the Ministry restore the right-hand turn lane from Carson Avenue onto Kinchant Street.

Council feels the loss of this lane prevents traffic from coming into the City to clear the Highway corridor in an efficient manner.

In some cases, Council says it backs it up to the Museum and Visitor Center.

Council also notes that the problem will get worse once the new arena is completed.
