McLeese Lake Farmers Market was awarded small market of the year at the BC Association of Famers Markets Conference and AGM in New Westminster this past weekend.
Janet Borgen is the chair and market manager.
“It’s pretty nice to be recognized for all of your hard work. It’s very much a team effort for our market. Everybody works together, and if we didn’t we wouldn’t see the results that we’ve had.”
Borgen says this will mark the third year for the market in which they are hoping to have more vendors at, and that they are looking to be able to purchase a propane fire pit, a PA system, and a generator to help people out in the cold weather days.
The first market of the season will run on Sunday, May 21.
