Regular Season Champs !

The Cariboo Cougars are the regular season champions in the BC Major Midget Hockey League.

They only needed one win but picked up two against the visiting Okanagan Rockets on the weekend.

They won 5-2 on Saturday and then 4-3 on Sunday.

Quesnel’s Myles Mattila scored a goal in both games while Williams Lake’s Daine Dubois had 5 assists to tie for the scoring lead with 67 points in 40 games.

The Cougars end up 34-5 and 1 on the season.

The Northern Capitals wrapped up the regular season in the BC Triple-A Female Midget Hockey League in Fruitvale over the weekend.

They lost 6-4 to the Kootenay Wild on Friday night before battling to a 3-3 tie on Saturday and then coming up with a 4-0 win on Sunday.

Cailey Mellott from 100 Mile House had 4 goals and 2 assists in the three games while Quesnel’s Katie Young had a goal and an assist and Sarah Jarvis scored as well.

The Capitals end up third out of 6 teams with a record of 14-13 and 3.
