Canadian Tire Robbery Case Wraps Up In Williams Lake

A Williams Lake man has been found guilty on charges related to a robbery at the Canadian Tire Store last year.

32-year old Jody Stroud, charged with Robbery, Theft under $5,000 and Possession of Stolen Property, was sentenced to 21 days in jail and two years probation.

Stroud was arrested back in February of 2016 along with his father Jody E. Stroud.

The elder Stroud Has since passed away.

Williams Lake RCMP say they were called to the store after an employee and the owner were allegedly bear sprayed while attempting to stop a theft.

Police say the younger suspect had entered the store and stole a winch while his father waited outside in a getaway vehicle in the parking lot.
