Junior A Coming Back To Quesnel ?

A story is out this morning in the Prince George Citizen that the BC Hockey League’s West Kelowna Warriors could end up in Quesnel after a failed bid to move to North Delta.

We asked Matt Kolle, part of a group trying to bring Junior B hockey to Quesnel, if he was interested…

-No we weren’t approached and the way I read the article is that this was maybe more of an attempt at fishing to see if there was anybody interested. We’ve done our homework and we know what’s going to work and what isn’t going to work and my opinion is for Quesnel, junior A hockey isn’t going to work.”

Kolle says they are still 100 percent interested in bringing a junior B team to Quesnel however.

He says while that won’t happen for the 2017-2018 season, they hope that the KIJHL owners will reconsider the bids from Quesnel and Williams Lake.

In the meantime, he says they continue to pursue other options.
