Body discovered under Rudy Johnson Bridge deemed suspicious

The Rudy Johnson bridge near Soda Creek remains closed to all traffic, afternoon a body was discovered under the bridge yesterday afternoon.

Williams Lake RCMP says they received a report of a body under ice and attended the scene at 2:17 pm.

The identity of the deceased male is undetermined at this time, with RCMP saying foul play is suspected.

The North District Major Crime Unit and Williams Lake Investigative Services are assisting with the investigation.

Although it is not for certain, RCMP says the Rudy Johnson Bridge could reopen later tonight at 8.
