Scott Elliott calls it a pre-election budget that is trying to make people forget about what has been happening in the last several years…
“They want us to forget increasing hydro rates, MSP, ICBC that’s been going on for a long time. They’ve raised those things by a thousand dollars, that’s hitting people hard.”
Elliott says education also hasn’t been spared…
“They want us to forget 15 years of cuts to our children’s education that was fought in court with taxpayer’s money. We need to be having talks as we move forward about sustainable funding, not taking money away and then giving it back and pretending like they are doing us a favour.”
Elliott says the Liberals also want people to forget that they only raised minimum wage by 20 cents up to $10.85 an hour when he says a living wage in Quesnel is calculated at $16.52 cents an hour.
He adds that we’ve known for years now that the annual allowable cut would be going down because of the Mountain Pine Beetle and yet there is still no plan to address it.
