Are you ready? Polar Bear Swim to raise funds for local rugby teams

The brave and young at heart will once again take part in the 15th annual New Year’s Day Polar Bear Swim in Williams Lake.

Williams Lake City Councillor and high school rugby coach Jason Ryll, says the event is not only a fun way to ring in the new year but also support local rugby teams.

“I think a lot of reason why a lot of people do the Polar Bear Swim is to do something kind of crazy to kick off the New Year and we also combine with a fundraising event for the high school rugby teams to be able to travel to different areas.”

“Now that we’ve combined our high schools we have to travel that much further and this is a great way for us to accomplish those goals.”

The 2015 Polar Bear Swim will take place on Thursday at 1 pm at Scout Island beach.
